Message from Ross Duhaime, Chairman of the Diaconate
What would you do if a tree fell on your house and you didn't know how to hold a chainsaw? What if you've just had a baby and everyone's tired, cranky and hungry? What if that pile of bills keeps growing and you've no idea how you're going to keep the lights on or the water running? These are things that matter, and your deacons are working hard with the staff, lay leaders, members and visitors like you to help alleviate these concerns. One thing is for sure, we can't do it without help from the body. That help comes in the form of your time, your prayers, and your financial support. Over the next couple of years, it is my goal that the diaconate of Orangewood becomes more and more relevant in helping this church become a true beacon of light in Maitland and greater Orlando, first to its members and visitors, then to the community as a whole. Just turn on the TV, open up the paper, surf the internet, or talk to your neighbors. Times are tough these days, and it is not going to get easier any time soon. The only hope which will help us is hope in Christ and His church. This website has e-mail links which enable you to get in touch with one of us if you need help, or better yet if you would like to help. Either that, or stop me or any other deacon on a Sunday morning. I look forward to serving you in the coming months
